Greetings,

I am upgrading from ImageEx 3.1 to 3.5, I receive this message from
Setupbuilder 5.1.

"Archive integrity check failed" what's the meaning of this message?

Thanks

Brian

Brian,

It sounds like a bad download of ImageEx 3.5.

SB5 has the ability to create an internal checksum to validate the install
after download. For you to get the error indicates a bad download.

HTH,

Charles

Brian - I have also seen this when you put the download in the my documents
folder or some other long-winded folder. That was the problem with my
ImageEX download.

Try moving the download to c:\ and then run it.

Andy,

The installer displays error this if the cyclic redundancy check failed
(received file does not include the original data).

Can you reproduce this with the long-winded folder name? I put some test
installs into a 240 byte subfolder and did not receive this message.

friedrich,

I put it in a 230 byte folder and it fails - message isn't what I thought it
was though:

Installer Error: 0001
Please contact the vender of this installation

Andy,

Yes, but this is an installer compiled with an older SetupBuilder 4.03,
right? SetupBuilder 5 does not display any "Installer Error: 0001" ;-)

There was an SetupBuilder 4.03a update available (18 month ago) to fix
this. The fix is based on the SetupBuilder 5 technology.

Isn't it great when something is ALREADY fixed and you can blame the user
for not updating :)

I love it when that happens.
