View Full Version : SBuilder 5 - "File In Use" and Win 2000

Is there any known issues with using the "File is Use" detection on a
Win2000 server? I have several installation sets that this works on
fine on WinXp's but if the programs are in the Win2000 server and is
in use, SB5 does not report it as in use.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Barton,

No, there is no known issue with this function.

I have tested this a few minutes ago on Windows 2003 Server (sorry, we
don't have 2000 Server) and on Windows 2000 and it worked as expected.

I created a c:\test folder. Then I copied a demo.chm help file to
that folder.

This is my script:

Set Variable %INUSE% to ScriptItem->Check In-use Folder Tree "c:\test"
Display Message Box "%INUSE%" -- ""

I executed my test installer and the message box displays "0" (no
files are in-use).

Then I opened the demo.chm help file and executed the test installer
again. This time the message box displayed "1" (one or more files
are in-use).

Does this help?

Thanks Friedrich.

I will check back with my testing department and see if I can get more
specific detail. They are reporting that on other OS's that is does
work.
