From my personal experience, Clarion gives you so much power&productivity,
when you know how to use it...that you can be able to build products that
are technically (features, automatization, intelligence...) clarly ahead of
the competition...before knowing Clarion, not one of the many tools I used
in the past, gave the developer such much power...

Friedrich,

Well done! It is a shame that they weight price so heavily in their final
rating score.

Tony,

It's actually just a way to balance the article so you don't think it's an
advertisement. <g>

InstallShield Lists for $449 for the Express Version! The price is
actually cheap for the features and support that you get. It doesn't matter
because anyone who is into development installation applications will
clearly see that the remark about price was incorrect - and SB is the best
value installer on the planet.

Robert,

I agree with you, most reviewers are on a mission to find some negative to
show balance.

Even our VS developers have stopped using InstallShield and MS installer in
favor of SetupBuilder. Now if I can just get them to switch to Clarion <g>.

Tony,

Thank you!

Yes, we did not receive Softpedia's highest overall rating of 5 stars
because of the price. But I am happy to see the editor's "The price
is somewhat high ($399), but perfection costs." comment.

Thank you Robert!

BTW, I fear our "product communication" is still suboptimal. The software
reviews editor only had an evaluation version available. I think he did
not notice that the amount of $399 includes a 1-year maintenance and support
plan (costs an extra $199 with InstallShield Express 11.5).

I have to improve SB5 product communication.

Thanks again,
Friedrich

Friedrich,

Wrong! <g>

I think he failed to notice that the amount includes 1-year maintenance and
support FROM FRIEDRICH who keeps adding new features every month and listens
constantly to everyone and keeps making the product better and better, while
the competition just puts out a new version every 18 months with 1/4 of the
new features.

You can't put a price on SUPPORT from a software vendor. It's a make or
break usually in a software product.
