View Full Version : Feature request

Hello Friedrich,

I have been playing with the Maintanance Plan feature and MERCI : it is a
FANTASTIC add-on you gave us (although because of you SV is using it etc
....<G>) - no REALLY an excellent thing to have and use

Just two things please : would it be possible to be able to copy paste a reg
key set in the script or to simply add one from the script editor as I would
like for example to add a putreg after the input of a new plan and not have
to set it up in registry tab etc .... -imagine a user inputs a new plan and
before the installer finishes a plae crashes on his house : the new value
will not be saved to reg ! :) - would ne usefull for other things also

Second feature : would it be possible to ..... it is possible already (auto
generate keys with a silent exe reading values from an ini file and putting
the result in another ini file so as to ship the key automatically) - see we
have to write to you to find solutions ... smiles !

Merci again for all your fantastic work done in SB

Do you mean the (Registry Visualizer generated) registry items that begin
with a "::" ? For example:

::Registry Key "HKLM\New Key 1" (Always Install)
::Registry Key "HKLM\New Key 1\New Key 1" (Always Install)
::Registry Value "HKLM\New Key 1\New Key 1\(Default)" = (Always Install)

At the moment you cannot copy and past items that begin with a :: This is
by design (yes, it's a bad design) and I'll see what we can do here.

What you can do now is to use the "Edit Registry" script functions (you
can copy and paste this function).

Yes, we are playing with some ideas to handle this (mass generation of
subscription keys and just-in-time subscription key generation). I'll
keep you posted.

Friedrich,

I have to write to get what is so obviously displayed!

Sorry yes the edit reg key is what I was looking for - may the name of edit
and the habit of insert or put or add .....

Todo is perfetto !

I talked John (PDF) into trying out your maintanance plan add-on and he
loves the idea - will also need some sort of mass generation as you say
If ever you need me to try out with my automated licence email thing....

Hi Jean-Pierre,

We will continue our work on the subscription key stuff next week. And I
hope we can find a solution to the ::Registry copy and paste limitation.

BTW, our goal is to release the brand new SetupBuilder 5.5 tomorrow.

Thanks again,
Friedrich
