I have 3 installs that use the same wupdate file (myapp.wup) - (install1
install2 install3)
i want to store the update information in an ini file, not the registry

My problem is whenever I compile my install, the myapp.wup file gets updated
with the name of the install that I am compiling

so if i compile install1
the name in the myapp.wup file will say install1

how can I force the myapp.wup file to always use the same name so my
installs can easily find if there is an update available?

Eric,

Maybe not what you need but here when I was faced with two apps in same path I simply decided to rename the second one as per
the app name&update.exe

and changed also in the installer the file to add ....

and all is perfect
