View Full Version : Suggestion - making RUN program easier to use for URLs

I want to automatically open a webpage in the default browser at the
end of my install.

The "Create Shortcut" has a nice option "Internet Shortcut" which
allows me to enter a target "http://www.company.com/mypage" which can
then be used.

I've managed to use "Run Program" to open a web page by:
* putting "http://webaddress" in the "Target FOlder"
* entering "." in the Filename.
* checking "Use ShellExecuteEx"

This was quite complex, and took me lots of goes to get right.
It wouldn't allow me to leave the "File name" blank, didn't allow me
to enter colons or slashes in the filename.

Perhaps if you could add the same "Internet Shortcut" feature from
your "Create Shortcut" into the "Run Program", then it would make this
a lot simpler.
And an example in the documentation would also be helpful!

"Open Web Page" option added. Good idea, btw.
