View Full Version : Wupdate network problem

When I run an update check on the server I get the correct responses.
However if I run from a client, I get return code -2.

The exe on both machines is identical, only the shorcut differs.
Both have the same target (because the exe exists independently on all
machines), but the "Start in" is different because of the networked drive.

How does one get wupdate working on the client?

-2 means it can't find/download the manifest file from the server (pic)

Are you storing your settings in an INI file or in the registry?
Whichever you're using, have you verified that they're correct on the
client?
Is the host address for wupdate correct on the client? Can you PING the
server using that address?

Hi Jane,

Yes I cleared that with Friedrich. The wupdate works from the server (which
means the settngs are correct and the files are correctly identified and
located on the web. The ini files are the same on both machines.
