SetupBuilder 7.0 Beta Build 2632 introduces a new "Media Type" option for
UAC-aware systems.

Background: when installing on an UAC-aware operating system (Windows Vista,
Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) with User Account
Control (UAC) active, there can be a substantial delay before the initial
setup dialog is displayed if your installation is packaged into a large
setup.exe file. During this time, a Windows UAC function is scanning through
the whole file to retrieve manifest information and to verify the digital
signature. This process takes a significant amount of time. How much time
depends upon the computer's capabilities, but it can take from a few minutes
up to one hour and more in some cases (especially when large installation
executables are launched from a DVD drive).

SetupBuilder 7 provides a solution to this fundamental problem!

The "Custom (for UAC-aware systems)" Media Type option lets you compile your
large installation into a small setup.exe and a setup.bin file (with option
to generate a multiple-volume disk set).

Example: we have compiled a 482 MB setup.exe (see attached singlfile.jpg).
The installation is correctly UAC-manifested and code-signed. If you launch
the setup.exe on a standard computer, it takes 2:14 min!! before you see the
"A program needs your permission to continue" prompt. And it will even take
longer if you start the same from a CD or DVD! This delay is caused by the
fact that Windows scans through the whole file to retrieve manifest
information and to verify the digital signature.

We recompile the same project with the new "Custom (for UAC-aware systems)"
option. The result is a small 164 KB (not MB!!!) setup.exe and a large .bin
file. If you launch this setup.exe on a standard computer, it takes only 1
second and you see the "A program needs your permission to continue" prompt.
