OF course, MANY thanks to Jane Fleming for providing a number of resources
dealing with CodeSigning, using SetupBuilder to much better advantage, etc.

However, hopefully, this method of obtaining Signtool.exe might be a bit
easier.

Here is a revised method of obtaining three files mentioned in Jane
Fleming's CodeSign May2009 PDF

http://www.beachbunnysoftware.com/webinar/

signtool.exe - pvk2pfx.exe - capicom.dll

If you choose the default install locations (from the install described
below), the files will be installed in this folder:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.1\Bin

Click on this link to load the web page for Windows SDK - Web Setup - this
will create a much smaller download, and install the files needed into a
folder you can easily copy to other folders as needed.

Windows SDK for Windows Server 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5 - Web Setup

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=E6E1C3DF-A74F-4207-8586-711EBE331CDC&displaylang=en

Instructions

For this release, the Windows SDK is available either thru a

* Web Setup that allows you to choose the components of the Windows SDK
you wish to download and install, or

* DVD ISO image file

Web Setup method

Download and install - Setup.exe

Only Win32 Development tools needs to be chosen (illustrated in screen
shot)

signtool.exe - pvk2pfx.exe - capicom.dll

If you chose the default install locations, the files will be installed in
this folder:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.1\Bin

Hi David, Jane,

Do you know if those tools can be re-distributed or if developers must
download the SDK/whatever to get them?

Best regards,

If they could be redistributed, Friedrich would be doing so the way he
presently distributes the old signcode.exe.

Verisign doesn't distribute it but says to download the SDK:
https://knowledge.verisign.com/support/code-signing-support/index?page=content&id=AR190

Attached zip file contains the SDK license stuff. Note signtool.exe is
conspicuously missing...

Thanks:) My reason for asking is that I would like to add an action to
Build Automator to code sign and wondered if I could re-distribute those
files.

If you can't or have doubts, you could place links to download these at the
end of your install, or a special help file from your start menu.

Yes, I was thinking along the same lines. I believe those go into a
pre-determined folder so I _might_ be able to detect if they exist or not
and if not, I'll pop a message and suggest a download:)

Arnor,

Since, others have suggested, there is no redistribution methods
(Lindersoft would already be doing it as someone suggested)

Then you might consider including steps in your help documentation from
what I have posted (revise for your use, of course) - it's a very easy
process as I have described it.
