I know Friedrich is away but does anyone know what causes the attached error
message.

This is a standard SB7 script (converted from SB6) running on Windows 7. It
compiled fine but this happens when it runs after UAC has done it's stuff.

TIA

Sorry - just a bit more information.

I copied the script back over toa Vista machine, recompiled with no changes
and all is as expected.

So this seems down to compiling on a Windows 7 machine.

Patient: "Doctor - it HURTS when I do this!"
Doctor: "Well stop doing that then!"

I'm sure if there is anything to it that Friedrich will figure it out when
he gets back from the beach<g>.

It could just be something else that MS has done with the Windows 7 beta.

:-)

By the time Windows shows this message the damage has been done. So screen
shots of GPFs are not really helpful. The error code might be.

Windows System Error 000193 = ERROR_BAD_EXE_FORMAT

Check the size of your setup.exe. If it's only 13KB or so then the build
process failed (can be caused by a access permission).

A client trying to download an install says:

"I can't get it to download. I have tried three times and keep getting the
same error message. In the blue top of the error message box it says "Set Up
Builder 7.0.2680" and the error message tells me to contact the vendor and
gives error message 0008.0000. "

Anyone have any idea what this might mean? I suspect a duff download but 3
attempts?

I assume you have code-signed the installer. Let the customer check if the
certificate in your setup.exe is valid and you know whether the download is
okay or not.

IMO, the certificate is not valid (based on the error code) and that means
he has an incomplete download.
