Two weeks ago, David Troxell of Encourager Software made a feature request
for the entry-level SetupBuilder 7 Professional Edition.

With economies all over the world reeling from failing stock markets,
developers in general are facing greater budget shortfalls. He suggested to
give these developers a choice of a quality, entry level setup tool with
functions to make their applications and installations Vista, Windows Server
2008, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server 7) compatible.

Features requested:

1. Enable "#code-sign application..." compiler directive for SetupBuilder
Professional Edition.

2. Enable "#embed UAC manifest..." compiler directive for SetupBuilder
Professional Edition.

3. Enable the "Digital Signature" section in the Project Definition so they
can easily code-sign the Install and Uninstall.

The above features are available in the high-end Developer Edition for
years, but we decided to support these very important features in the
SetupBuilder 7 (Gold) Professional Edition as well.

Thank you for your suggestions, David.

Friedrich,

Thank you very much for implementing the suggestions -

when I recommend SetupBuilder (not just the Clarion group, but many diverse
developer forums and search engine results - particularly the UAC safe blog
I wrote - over 2000 views and still popular),

First and foremost, I recommend SetupBuilder Developer at the USD $399
level to include 1 year maintenance, but I know there are many who can't
initially justify the expenditure - however, with these added features in
SetupBuilder 7 Professional - Gold edition -

the ease of adding very powerful features, and keeping it within a singular
process - will help many more developers to deliver software that will meet
the latest standards.

And, judging by the early results of widespread Windows 7 testing,
including a sizeable portion of the computing public in general,

that, in the past, usually waited until an SP1 release of a major operating
system release, let alone, test it in both beta and release candidate
versions...

I fully expect the transition to Windows 7 will have a much higher initial
acceptance rate, then previous major operating systems releases.

David
