will the Sql2005 work if the program was written for Sql2008 , or how to
make 2008 a prerequisite ??

And Distribute with installation ??

I can't asnwer this question. I fear you have to ask this question in the
Microsoft SQL 2008 newsgroup.

You have to download the SQL2008 redistributable from the Microsoft download
section and call it from your installer. You also have to make sure that
(at least) .NET 3.5 SP1 is installed and (at least) Windows Installer 4.5.
(all in all, another hefty 220MB of overhead).
