Extract drive from a folderpath

Hi,

I read a path to a folder from the registry and need to extract the drive
from this into %DRIVE%
The folderpath could be local (c:\folder\folder....) or a serverpath
(\\servername\drive c\folder\folder...)

Is this possible ?
