All,

Comodo, Inc. told me that our order system is ready to go. I am sorry for
the delay!

All qualified Lindersoft customers are able to purchase code signing
certificates for as little as $66 per year (on a three year term). The same
certificate can be used to sign application, installation and PAD files.

We offer Code Signing Certificates for $79 (1-year), $143 (2-years), and
$200 (3-years).

Do the math: a Verisign Code Signing Certificates costs $499 for 1 year,
$894 for 2 years and $1,293 for 3 years. A Thawte Code Signing Digital ID
costs $199 for 1 year and $399 for 2 years.

If you already requested a Code Signing Certificate with the old ordering
system, please request the certificate again. I have removed all old order
requests now.

If you are interested in a Code Signing Certificate but your SetupBuilder
subscription expired or you don't own any of our products, please send an
email to sales@lindersoft.com to request further information.

Hi Pratik,

If you have a current SetupBuilder subscription, you should have received
your Lindersoft Community Membership details (login and password) last week.

A Step-by-Step Guide Through the Certification Request Process
--------------------------------------------------------------

- Step 1:

The first step is that the customer will be required to enter their
Certificate Signing Request (Product Details). Total Cost of the certificate
is displayed.

In the process of applying for a Code Signing ID, your browser will generate
a private key. Please make a back-up copy of this private key, as you will
need this key to sign code. This key is never sent to Comodo, so if you lose
this private key, you will be unable to sign code. If this key is lost or
stolen, please contact Comodo immediately.

- Step 2:

The next step is that the customer will be required to enter their corporate
details. Press the "Agree & Continue" button.

- Step 3:

Enter your credit card details, cardholder address and contact details.

- Step 4:

If you press the "Make Payment" button, Lindersoft will authorize the
certificate request. This will initiate the customer validation process.

- Step 5:

A confirmation email with instructions for validation will be sent to the
customer and Comodo will begin validating the application.

Comodo will take a number of steps to verify your identity. For commercial
publishers, Comodo does a considerable amount of background checking.

- Step 6:

Upon successful validation of the application, the pending Certificate will
be issued.

At the end of this process, Comodo will send you an e-mail containing a PIN
(Personal Identification Number). Follow the instructions in this e-mail to
pick up your Digital ID. Save your Digital ID as a file (e.g.
MyCredentials.spc).

Hope this helps!

Friedrich,

What is the process if you already have a certificate with them and
are renewing? I wouldn't want to have to go through all of the
documentation procedures again.

Thanks!

Hi Friedrich

I noticed last time that it required an email, would this be required for
the certificate authorities to get in touch with me if there was a problem
with my software. I'm thinking it might be better to setup a dedicated email
address for the certificate authorities rather than say my personal email
address (if that makes any sense)?<g>

Cheers

Richard

Hi Richard,

In step 1, there is an optional Contact Email Address (appears in your
Certificate!!!!). For example, support@yourdomain.com

The other (required) emails address will be used to send you a confirmation
email with instructions for validation. Comodo will not share this email
address.

Giving the Verisign criminals even a dime is offensive. Giving them $499 is
downright ridiculous.

Thanks for offering an alternative.

Hi Friedrich,

Does Comodo allow Independant Software Developers i.e. without a company to
purchase certificates? The reason I ask is that I have managed so far without
signing my applications and I am an independant software consultant and with
Vista requiring signing, I may not have a choice but sign my applications but I
have no company whose credentials Comodo can verify. Also, does Comodo issue
certificates in certain countries only or is it universal?

I know I should be asking Comodo these questions but I thought you might have
covered these areas with Comodo and would appreciate your input.

Regards

Shankar

Hi Shankar,

Yes, you can request a certificate even if you don't have a company. And
Comodo handles certificates for all countries.

Boy, that was quick. Thanks for the update. Looks like I need to plan/budget to
buy the SB6 Developer along with the Comodo certificate soon.

Thanks & Regards
