Got the attached error and whole thing crashed this time adding the
manifest, when it was previously added in the last install.

I add the manifest, then code sign it, and it worked in last install, but I
had to give it fresh exe to work.
I select permanent, and skip if done.

Now it crashed on manifest.

Huhhh, who knows. Real frustrating.

Restarted sb7 and this time it worked.
Sure is funky though, every time I use it sb7 acts different.
Been getting a lot of sb7 errors and crashes since moving to Windows7.
Had been using sb6 on XP pro flawlessly -- previously.
These are migrated sb6 files.

Bo

I get similar on Vista /W7 (Both Ultimate 32). If the file is already
manifested and the check box is NOT checked SB7 tends to crash every time.

Now I leave the permanent box checked and also skip if manifested and it is
fine. It seems to be the most logical thing to do but not right. It works
though (for me).

Hi Bo,

FYI: we are using SetupBuilder exclusively on Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)
for more than one year now. All machines (including the machines for Setup
Consulting projects) are running Windows 7 RTM 64-bit. No problem at all.

So perhaps it's something with your machine? Did you update that thing from
a previous Windows version? Is your "protection software" Win7-compatible?

I checked all support requests back to September 2008 and there is not a
single similar issue :-(

Whatever causes this on your machine, I am sure the same will happen in SB6.
If you are not using new SB7 features in your migrated .sb6 project, you can
test it. Both SB6 and SB7 can coexist on the same machine. Open the
migrated .sb6 in SB6 and compile it.
