I want to save the web update settings to the registry.

The basic wupdate.sb6 file provided saves registry items
to "Software\Lindersoft\WebUpdate\AppPaths". I want to use
use my own registry location.

This is simple in wupdate.sb6 because I just change the script.

BUT I know that the initial values get written with the
original installation.

How or where does the initial installation set the registry
entries that wupdate uses?

When you initialize the Web Update feature, it always creates
the Product GUID under Software\Lindersoft\WebUpdate\AppPaths
It is not possible to change this key.

What you can do is to use the "Store Properties in INI File"
option. In this case, it does not write information to the
Windows Registry.
