View Full Version : System Requires Restart

Something changed on this #@$% Vista Home Premium machine. When testing a
install it brings up the msg to restart the system which doing so then
brings up the new app/data.

Nothing to do with SB7 - it just started happening but hoping someone has
encountered this, I am thinking possibly maybe one of the MS Updates is the
culprit.

If the installer asks for a reboot (and as I understand it, you do not do it
programmatically with the "Reboot/Resume..." script function) then the
installer detected a locked (in-use) file. A reboot is required in this
case to replace it on reboot to complete the installation.

You can disable the reboot (in your script), but then you have an incomplete
install. So this is not recommended.

I would suggest to find out which file is locked (in-use) and why.

Does this help?

Thanks Friedrich,

Yep, checking the Task Manager machine did not close the exe file for some
reason. This is the first time the machine failed to clear when the app was
closed, so will watch it.
