View Full Version : Code Signing Problem

Hi All,

SB 6.0.1750

I have three install projects that have been working correctly with regards
to code signing. Each project is signing the installer in addition to the
application being installed, and in one case there are two additional exe's
I was successfully signing that are included in the install.

Suddenly, none of them work. I receive a "Compiler warning GEN1053 Code
signing process failed" on every attempt in every project.

I have tried using both the Comodo and Verisign time stamps.

I have tried leaving the password field blank and entering it during the
compile. No joy.

In one project the attempt to sign the installer exe doesn't even present
the sign code window. The same thing happens if I leave the password field
blank.

Hopefully someone can point me to a resolution to this issue.

TIA for any assistance.

Lee,

Try signcode.exe (located in the \Lib subfolder) and let me know what this
tool reports.

Hi Friedrich,

Stay well and be safe..... WE NEED YOU!

Here is the error I received when attempting to sign one of the executables
using signcode.exe in the lib folder.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I think something happened to your certification file. If you open up the
..spc file (e.g. in Explorer), you should see the certificates inside it. If
you then click on the end (signing) certificate, it should show up as valid.

Is it still valid?

Hi Friedrich,

As usual, you nailed it. My certificate has expired.

I contacted Comodo about the same time you became a re-seller for them and
was told my certificate did not expire until 2008. Needless to say, I never
gave this a second thought.

Now I need to get busy and see if I can get it renewed.

Thanks again.
