View Full Version : How Do I - Renew Comodo certificate

Hi all,

I am attempting to renew my Comodo certificate.

When I complete the corporate details and enter my userid and password, I
receive an error informing me the user I entered is already taken.

Is there a special page just for renewals? If not, how do I get around this?
I really don't want to change my userid or my password.

Thanks.

Lee,

I am not sure if this works.

Follow the link:
http://www.lindersoft.com/Comodo/ocs1095.htm

I see: "If you have previously purchased Lindersoft security solutions
please login below BEFORE continuing with this order:"

Please try to enter your login details here. Does it "remember" you?

Friedrich

P.S. I am going home now...

Hi Friedrich,

It did remember me but the price jumped from $200.00 to $500.00.

Is it possible your agreement with Comodo is only valid for new certificates
and not renewals?

Has anyone else successfully purchased a renewal through the Linder site?

Thanks.

Hi Lee,

Then I think you can only "renew" if you previously purchased through the
Lindersoft link.

I fear the only possible solution in this case is to buy a "new" certificate
for $200.

Hi Friedrich,

You should be pleased to know that I have had direct contact with Comodo and
it turns out it was your account manager, ( Nicholas ) that assisted me.
Within 10 minutes he had me all fixed up at the $200.00 price. He had to
jump through a couple of hoops, but he got it done for me.

I should receive my certificate within the hour.

Sorry for cluttering up your NG with issues that are my fault.

Always let me know if there is any problem or question :) I am here to
help.

Using this NG is perfect (IMO). It is good to share knowledge and
experience.

We even mirror all messages for those who don't have access to NNTP:

Friedrich,

I don't need to renew my certificate for another 6 months or so but
after reading Lee's experience I thought I'd go try to renew my
certificate and see what happened when I signed in. I went to the
LinderSoft page, then clicked to purchase and signed in with my
LinderSoft ID/PW, and on the order page when I entered my Comodo ID/PW
so I could renew and avoid re-credentialing the prices jumped up to
the higher price.

I'm just bringing this to your attention because it looks like it is a
general problem and as time goes on many people are likely to have it.

Is this something you expect can be resolved for everyone or will each
of us have to contact Comodo individually to get "fixed"?

Thanks!

Kelly,

Good point. We'll check this with Comodo.

Thanks,

Just a reminder: I just tested this again and the issue remains
unresolved.

Kelly,

They are still working on it (last feedback we received from Comodo is dated
15-May-2007). The problem is that:

.... "for a Returning customer (as opposed to a New customer), the
"affiliate" who originally referred them to us overrides the "affiliate" who
most recently referred them." ...

Their idea is to manually change the "original affiliate" for this account
from Comodo to Lindersoft. It's not a trivial task and they are not sure if
this really works.

I'll keep you posted.
