View Full Version : Vista Tip - Converted C5B to C6.3 - and HTML (Chm) Help

This will NOT obviously be a tip for everyone, but it worked for me,
testing under Vista Home Premium.

I had converted a C5B program with WinHelp to C6.3 9055 and added the SV
HTML global -

I had already tested the updated version with Global - App Settings -
Include default XP manifest before adding the SV HTML global - the XP
manifest produced some of the things you'd expect - rounded buttons, better
UI look, etc.

But for some reason, after adding the SV HTML global, pressing F1 did not
display CHM help - I checked SV's example, my app, etc but still no CHM
help.

Then I decided to test the program with a SetupBuilder install (Developer
Edition) AND use the Vista Manifest embed using this caution from the SB
docs.

(Use this function only on application files that do not have an embedded
manifest! For example, make sure the "Include Default XP Manifest" App
Settings option in your Clarion 6 Environment is turned off.)

Also - Vista Manifest - Developer Edition. This function is not available
in the Professional version of the SetupBuilder Installation System.

VERY easy to implement - in the script editor, the embed Vista manifest is
a script function, select and insert - recompile and install.

After I installed - I now have context sensitive help on a procedure level
(that's how I write my help to that level) and my HTML chm works VERY
nicely in this converted C5B to C6.3 program!

Thanks to Friedrich and Lindersoft's SetupBuilder!
