View Full Version : Currently using SB4 and SB5 for deployment - what issues will confront us

Hi Friedrich and fellow SBx travellers

We will be releasing the 2007 version of our product in July. The 2006
version was deployed using SB4, which was adequate for the task, if a little
limiting.

We deploy patches to our software (download & run) using SB5 which has
worked very well.

Firstly, will we find that Vista users have problems with either deployment
platform? What problems?

What do we need to do in order to circumvent ant Vista-related problems? Do
we need to upgrade to SB6?

Regards
Warren

Warren,

I'll answer this question in detail later today. We are preparing the brand
new SetupBuilder 6.5 install images right now.

You need a Vista-aware installer to deploy to Vista machines. SB4 and SB5
cannot compile Vista-aware installations.
