Both C70 and C71 (pre-release) share the same Clarion7 registry key. As a
result, both C70 and C71 are detected as "Clarion 7.0". Please note that a
C71 install overwrites an existing C70 registry value and vice versa.

Update: the next SetupBuilder 7 maintenance build will let you auto-detect
C70 (Gold) and C71 (next build).

Is SV adding a new value to their key for 71?

Hi Lee,

In fact, it's not necessary to add a new value to the "Clarion7" registry
key to detect C70 and C71. I think the next SetupBuilder 7 maintenance
build will not use the "Clarion7" registry key any longer to detect C7.x
instances.

Then I'll let you wrap your head around that one since the thought
gives me a headache.<g>

7.0 is on my C: drive and 7.1 is on my G: drive. The ramifications you
must be considering are too much for my tired old brain!

With 7.0 (Gold) and the current 7.1 (Pre-Release), it's impossible to handle
the multiple C7.x instances scenario.

But with the next Clarion 7.1 build, it's done automatically because
SetupBuilder handles it quietly behind the scenes. And yes, it will also
work if you'll have 7.2 on your H: drive in the future <g>

At that rate you will need two character drive letters by the time C8 comes
out.
