My installation ships with some MS updates included so the user doesnt have
to abort installing my app, run a windows update then resume the
installation, I've taken care of all the patch & update downloads so the
installation is as seamless as possible although it still takes some 3
reboots & 20mins to install!

When the user uninstalls my app, would you expect the MS Updates to be
uninstalled at the same time as well?

Thats the question.<g>

I wouldn't bother, as I assume these are "standard" Microsoft things
for their machine, and will probably be used by other software as
well. If they really don't want them, they can always uninstall them
using Microsoft's own utility.

I doubt, however, that most of them would even know that they're
there. <G>

I wouldn't uninstall them.

It could be similar to a shared DLL scenario. Perhaps some other app is
installed after yours has been and it's also dependent on those updates.
When you uninstall Microsoft components, you could break something else.

IMO, you should not uninstall MS Updates from your uninstall application!
The same is true for, say, VC2005 or VC2008 runtime redistributables. Once
installed, do not touch them again.
