Hi Friedrich

Whilst messing around with the firewalls tonight I wondered if theres a way
I can tell SB7 when adding a new firewall rule, whether it should be enabled
for the 3 different firewall options Home, Work or Public in Windows 7 &
Vista?

Cheers

I have to do some research on this. I don't know if Microsoft provides an
interface to handle it.

Hi Friedrich

These are a couple of links I found useful.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947709
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc646023.aspx

Ok for the record currently the Firewall option in SB7 sets the public
access but not the Home or Work (private) and if you were say installing an
SQL server you are not going to want the SQL server exposed yet you need to
expose it to the Home/Work firewall so other workstations can access it.

Something for others to bear in mind. <g>

Does anyone know what the default behavior or etiquette is for setting
firewall levels? Go ahead and change someone's security or give them the
option?

Cheers

Richard
