View Full Version : Problem creating shortcuts depending on Features

I may be doing something wrong, but it's quite a bit unconvenient,
maybe even a bug....(Well, a "suggested feature" might be more
appropriate)

First, from the script editor, I can't change the feature,it's on
always install, and that's it....

From Installation detals/Shortcuts, I can change the feature, but the
choice of files to point to (from advanced/target) do not show the
selected feature, I have to choose again from a drop down list. Looks
to me like a big source of errors. Why not restrict the choice to the
feature selected under conditions?

Thanks,
Bernard

PS- It might be my way to work, but as on the first tab (General) I
see "Feature: Always Install", the first thing I do is to go to
Conditions to change it. After that, I would expect to be "inside" the
selected feature without having to select it again.

Bernard,

Yes, that's correct. If you create a Shortcut from the Scrip Editor, you
have to use the "If Feature..." Statement to define the feature with which
the shortcut component is associated.

The "Shortcut Visualizer" and the "Create Shortcut..." script function are
different types of functions.

OK, thanks Friedrich, did not realize that at first.

Hi Bernard,

The documentation is "suboptimal" on this and the "Browse for Folder..."
even gives access to the Feature selection list. This is confusing and
we'll try to fix it.
