View Full Version : Udo's Problem with Clarion 7 Detection

One of my customers is having a problem with my install, which of
course uses SB's Clarion detection feature.

He has both C6 and C7 on his machine, which is running XP with him
logged in as an administrator. It detects C6, but not C7. He's run
c7utility_201.exe, and it indicates that C7 is present.

Any ideas?

What exactly does "c7utility_201.exe" report?

BTW, just for fun, ask him to download and start the LSZip installer (no
need to install the product, just test the Clarion detection).

If LSZip does not detect his C7, then it's a problem with his C7
environment. If it detects C7, then it's a problem in your setup project.

I apologize if I jump in. LsZip install detects 7.1 as you can see on
attached PNG. The installation went flawlessly.
BTW your message was a reminder to install LsZip to 7.1 :)

;-)

That means you have a valid C7.1 environment. Now we have to find out why
one of Mike's install can't detect C71.

@Mike: do you have support for C71 enabled in your .sb7 project?

Perhaps I don't, because when I run my own installer, it mentions 7.0,
but not 7.1.

BINGO! That's the problem. I guess Udo's the first to complain,
because all others had 7.0 installed in the same location prior to
7.1.

Thanks Friedrich!
