View Full Version : Run one SetupBuilder program from another

I am trying to use the Run Command to run a separate SB7 program file.
I am checking wait for program.
It appears the two programs are dead-locking each other. The second setup
program never starts running. Both show up in Task Manager.
If I kill either process the other one continues.

I've tried run command, run program (both with and w/o shell execute).
Both of the programs require administrator. I've been testing on Win XP.

Is this a limitation of some type. Is there a semaphore running around?

Any help would be great.
TIA,
Rick

Jane,

You're a doll (or a beach bunny as the case may be). :)

I'll test in the morning but I'm betting that is the issue.
Did you remember that or find it via a search?

Thanks,
Rick

Rick,

What Jane said.

And check the new "SetupBuilder 7.2 Build 2939 (April 26, 2010)"

IMPROVEMENT: [SB#002172] Installer: Add new internal "wizard event handling"
module to prevent possible "dead-lock" issues when external
(installer) applications are launched with the "Wait" option
enabled.

SB72 installs should work around this dead-lock problem.
