Hi Friedrich

I'm using the example Clarion Deployment script from the examples and I cant
get a template registered.

I've tried leaving the "Register All pending Clarion Templates" blank in the
IDE filename field but no success and also tried
%CLARION_IDE_DIR%\bin\ClarionCL.exe -tr %CLA_TEMPLATE%\myTemplate.tpl in the
IDE Filename field as well but still no success.

Any ideas?<g>

Cheers

Richard

Work around for now is using a normal run program with the command line
%CLARION_IDE_DIR%\bin\ClarionCL.exe -tr %CLA_TEMPLATE%\myTemplate.tpl works
for now but I didnt know if this inbuilt Clarion register option is maybe
good for <c7 or not.

Hi Richard,

Have you got Clarion installed below \Program Files ?

Hi Graham

Its C:\Clarion 7.1.7118 on XP so no UAC issues to get in the way.
I suspect the SB reg template facility is a DDE thing which isnt need for
ClarionCL but could be wrong.<g>

cheers

Hi Richard,

OK, I was thinking of the need for 'elevation' with ClarionCL :-)

ClarionCL is C7 only. For earlier versions of Clarion it uses DDE.

It works for all versions of Clarion. For C7 it uses the ClarionCL
command line program.

Are you sure you have the TPL setup for registration?<g>

Hi Lee

Thats what I missing, is there is something special I need to do to get that
option visible becuase as you can see its not there which is why I cant
register it but explains my predicament.

Do you think I need to have the IDE on the same machine for example?
I have my SB7 installed on a seperate VM win7 64bit away from XP Dev
machines etc, weird config I know but thats me.<vbg>

Cheers

I'm not absolutely certain but I seem to recall there was a "Clarion"
option when I installed SB. It's probably that bit that's missing from
your SB install. I'll have to let someone else verify that.

I don't distribute Clarion templates, so no personal experience.
But are you referring to this configuration setting, Lee? (pic)

Jane, Lee, and gang.

I think the confusion arose because former SetupBuilder installers for the
tool itself included an option for Clarion support DURING the install - but
it makes more sense NOT to do that (IMHO) - and include the checkbox in the
Options area.

Suggestion to Friedrich -

Clarion Environment Detection Dialog help topic - include a screen shot
similar to Jane's Options - Enable Clarion Support - for this help topic so
it's a bit more clear for Clarion developers who need Clarion Environment
Detection support.

Yes, good point. The installer never had an option for Clarion support
during the install. At first IDE startup, the IDE checks for an installed
Clarion environment. Unfortunately, C7.x is not supported. I'll see if it
is possible to add C7 detection here. But we'll add a note to the
documentation.

Thanks,
Friedrich
