Hi all,

I have c63, c70, c7.1 and c7.2 installed. All installations (Clarion IDE)
works well. It installed in different folders.

Now I am working on setup file to detect and install our products for c7.2
(using latest version of SB7). So far so good. In the Clarion Environment
Detection Dialog I set c63, c70, c7.1 and c7.2. In runtime setup file
offers me just

c63, c70, and c7.2.

no c7.1... What I am doing wrong?

Nothing!<g> There are a couple of other threads about this already.

Currently there is no way to discern the path except to the latest
install of 7.#. So, if 7.2 is installed you can't retrieve a path for
7.1 and the detection will only see 7.2.

I think that's correct - it can get confusing!<g>

not sure that this is correct. If my c71 and c72 works well (since it were
installed separately into the different folders) so I assume that SB can
detects it as well.

also when I use Clarion 7 Environment Utility (from Lindersoft), support for
c70 and c71, then it shows correct installation of c70 and c71. May be
Friedrich can create a new one to check also c72?

btw how I can install for c71 if c72 installed too? ;)

Gennadi,

In my case it's fairly easy since I provide different installs for
different Clarion versions and builds. The only potential problem is
relying on developers (dangerous, I know<g>) to pick the correct
install to download and run.

The other difference in my installs is that I provide an entry for the
path to the Clarion folder (see attached). I use the "If Clarion" test
which sets an internal SB variable with the path\exe for Clarion. I
remove the filename and preload the path entry on the dialog. So, the
developer is responsible (yeah, dangerous again<g>) if it needs to be
changed.

Yes, it is <g>.

No! I would suggest to read the previous threads. It has NOTHING to do
with SetupBuilder at all! That is how the C72 deployment strategy is
designed. Installing C72 over C70/C71 updates the previous installation --
installing C70/C71 over C72 would downgrade the previous installation.

No! The Clarion 7 Environment Utility is not required any longer for C72.
From the technical point-of-view, the C72 installation in correct. The
Clarion 7 Environment Utility was there to detect (and fix) problems with
previous Clarion 7.0 and Clarion 7.1 installations.

so does it mean that detection for c71 doesn't work correctly if c72
installed?? ;)

From the technical point-of-view, there is no C71 after you upgraded to C72!
