I purchased the Comodo code signing certificate two days ago. Got an email from Comodo confirming the purchase, but not a clue about where to get the .spc and .pvk files. I sign into my account at Comodo, but it tells me nothing. Why isn't there some roadmap here at Lindersoft and/or at Comodo that tells me what happens next after I pay for the code signing certificate?

Mark,

The following is interesting and tells you exactly what to do and what you'll receive ;)

http://www.beachbunnysoftware.com/webinar/CodeSign.pdf

Taken from:
http://www.lindersoft.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23099

BTW, if you followed the instructions, the .pvk should already be on your machine:
http://www.lindersoft.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8279

IMO, your identity verification is still in progress and so your certificate is not ready yet. Once the necessary background checks have been successfully completed, you'll receive an "ORDER #XXXXXXX - Your Code Signing Certificate is ready!" email that provides a link to collect your certificate.

Comodo have "Live Support/Chat" here:
http://www.instantssl.com/

And this is a link to their support ticket system:
https://support.comodo.com/

Hope this helps.

A "Your Code Signing Certificate is ready" email looks like this (see attached).

Four days after I purchased it, I finally received from Comodo the code signing certificate. I followed the Lindersoft instruction for "collecting" the certificate, and the page with the Collection Code then reported "successful". Great. But where did it deposit the .spc file on my computer? It didn't give me a clue where it is. I've did a Windows search in all of the reasonable candidate directories (Windows, My Documents) and can't find it.

Where should I look for the collected certificate file?

Mark,

Did you use the "In the CSP" or "In the File" key storage option? If you followed the "Lindersoft instructions", then you download a .spc from Comodo. If you used the CSP option then it's in your certification store now.

By the way, in an email to our Sales you said that "I love the SetupBuilder app, but don't love your process for purchasing and installing a code signing certificate" and "Lindersoft needs to vastly improve this code signing certificate process".

Please see the note on our page that links you to the Comodo ordering system: Comodo, Inc. handles the ordering systems and identity verification.

We are not involved in this process. You do not order the certificate from Lindersoft nor do you pay to Lindersoft.

Hope this clears it up!
