View Full Version : Is there any complete example anywhere?

Hi all,
I'm looking for a complete example of a "normal" installation. As
normal I mean the classics prompts (where to install the program,
create a program group, run the program after installation).
Thanks in advance.

Hi Mauricio,

I produced a short demo (6 minutes I think) of an SB5 installation so
the IDE is a little dated but the priciple's the same. Go to
http://www.datadownunder.com.au/ProductsList.htm and click on the
"SetupBuilder 5 Intro Demo" link.

Mauricio,

We'll add a "complete" example project in an updated Examples package.

Geoff,

Nicely done demo! Really shows a VERY powerful Setup Tool, but how quickly
one can create the first install and then customize as needed.

Course, an updated SB6.5 demo would be very nice since the computing world
has changed very rapidly since then, especially with a Vista example as
well. THAT would really show off the power of Lindersoft's expertise in
covering the latest Vista install techniques!

Hi David,

Thanks very much for the positive feedback.

Yes I have full intentions of doing just that. I plan to do a whole
series but had to get a few other projects out of the way first. I did
a similar presentation on Code Signing, Manifest
embedding, establishing shortcuts, registry entries etc at the Aussie
DevCon, but I produced it without sound so I could do it "live", so
now I just have to make a few changes and add the voice-over to the
presentation and it's good to go.

Geoff,

You're welcome - I've been reviewing a number of Camtasia produced videos
lately, especially from Clarion developers,

and yours was definitely one of the most concise, clear and easy to follow,
both from an educational and promotional use of a product standpoint.

Looking forward to your future productions - not sure what Friedrich is
doing with his tips and techniques, etc but your stuff will make a great
addition for links/promotions.

David,

I agree. Geoff's videos are top-notch :) And a video tells more than a
thousand words and give the additional learning effect! Written tips and
techniques papers cannot come close to this.
