To Whom This May Concern:
On the setup prerequisites part of Setupbuilder Developer 6, there are options for such things as .NET Framework 2.0. However, if you try and run an installer that has the .NET Framework 2.0 pre-req, on a Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 Base System, the installer will quit, saying you need a newer of internet explorer installed. Therefore, would it be possible to add a pre-req component that installs the latest version of IE (Internet Explorer 6 for Windows 98, ME and 2000 ; Internet Explorer 7 otherwise)?

James,

The problem is that it's not so easy to redistribute IE7 because of Windows Genuine Validation. And we are not allowed to make IE6/IE7 redistributables available.

If you have such a IE redistributable, you can develop your own code to handle this. For example, if IE6 is not available (Get System Information), simply execute the IE6 or IE7 redistributable from your script.

Does this help?

Friedrich
