View Full Version : Getting rid of old shortcuts etc.

Our software has, up til now, been installed using Setupbuilder 4.

Users sometimes install our software into a different folder from one year
to the next.

From year to year, the installer has replaced existing shortcuts, but this
time, the shortcuts from the old installations are not being recognised as
being linked to the new installation, and are being left on the desktop etc.

How do I detect the existing shortcuts and delete them so that the users are
not confused by old shortcuts left on the desktop?

Hi Warren,

By default, old installations (done with SB4, Wise, etc.) created Shortcuts
under Current User, your new installation Shortcuts (done with SB65) are
under All Users ;-) Result: you have two Shortcuts!

So to "remove" your old (SB4) Shortcuts, you have to use "Delete File(s)..."
under Current User.

Does this help?
