From the docs:

"Do not add MANIFESTDEPENDENCY element

"If this checkbox is marked, this option causes the compiler to not generate
the "dependency" and "dependentAssembly" elements of the Publisher
Configuration File. As a result, the manifested application will load the
pre-6.0 common control library on XP and later Windows versions."

What is the significance of this and what are the implications of this for
those of us who are only human (not expert)?

Greg,

It means that you can add an application manifest to your exe to specify
user access and windows 7 compatibility without using the new common
controls. Your program will then not draw controls with the new themes and
look more like a windows 95 program.

True enough -

Actually in a future SB release, Friedrich has promised the "Learning
SetupBuilder Part I CHM" reference will appear in the opening window IDE
Left Side list, but for now, I have it pinned to my Start Menu for easy
access.

So! When Jane reminds us - we have once again overlooked an important
explantion in her docs (or when doing research for the App Data UAC Safe
blog-chm) - I run over to it and refresh myself with the details.

BTW, for others following this message thread, and do not know about this
important CHM, here are some details:
