View Full Version : Vista White Paper

Is a draft (or final version) of the Vista white paper available.

I'm looking for words to explain to my customers and prospects why all my
(significant) effort to create a Vista version of my software is important -
as opposed to just installing my old app in it's own folder ( C:\myapp).

Anyone have any words to share?

Hi Lynn,

I have added a "Design Vista Applications and Installations with
SetupBuilder" topic to the latest documentation. I have not improved my
internal Vista white paper for some months now. Jane did such a fantastic
job with all the clarionmag.com Vista articles - I really cannot compete
with that fine stuff :)

Yes :)
Carry on installing it there and all will be fine till BG finds another idea
to get us all to work ....

No honestly - I know it is supposed to be etc ... but it works perfectly
under c:\myapp even under Windows Server 2008 and 64 bit versions also etc
....

If you are used to c:\myapp stay there BUT do all the dirty work in reg that
is needed PLUS all the SB installer tips Friedrich told us all about and you
will be fine

Do not forget that all this work will have to be redone at a later stage
when MS finally succeeds in removing altogether the registry like they are
trying to ...(true it is a mess) so ....

Not that all this work is useless - just that is is too much work for
nothing more than MS's satisfaction .... - I'm not paid for that and being
French I always try to find ways around when a restriction is not to my
liking... :)
