how do these two work together? If I fill out the areas of the
visualizer and then generate a script is created.

If I modify the script, what happens if I go back into the visualizer
and change things? How does it know what to change in the script and
what not to (or does it know)?

Or should you not use the visualizer after editing the script?

Thanks, Bob Roos

In all my uses it's been a two way street. In other words work where
you need to work and the changes appear in both.

It appears not to be quite so -- at least in the case of a password. I
had a password on the installation for the user to enter and then I got
tired of entering it in my debugging so I UNchecked the box.

It still insisted on the password. When I went through the debug then
I saw the script (wizard section) asking for the password.

Thanks to all. I learned a LOT about SetupBuilder.

Never have used a password in an SB script. I use an external Clarion
DLL to validate access.

Everything else I've ever changed could be done in either location.

Bob,

Lee is right. Any time a visual view ("Visualizer") is used, it updates the
underlying code view ("Script Editor") and vice-versa.

Some areas are accessible only via the visualizer. Others you can set up and
modify the script and depending what you do, it may be moved from its visualizer
area. For example, changing the install location for files (which I had to do).

BTW - Did you know there is a dedicated newsgroup for Setupbuilder on this server?
