View Full Version : Problem with Releases feature

In a setup script, I have defined two releases in addition to the default. In
the default, under Compiler Variables, [OUTPUTDIR] is defined as
[PRODUCTPATH]\Install\CD and everything works fine. [PRODUCTPATH] is defined
as c:\ThPro. In one of the releases, I have [OUTPUTDIR] is defined as
[PRODUCTPATH]\Install\Demo and the path does exist. When I try to compile, I
get the followin error:

Fatal Compiler Error [2]: Cannot create [PRODUCTPATH]\Install\Demo

If I change it to c:\ThPro\Install\Demo it works fine.

When this happens, I have to close the project, none of the selections along
the left side are available. Actually, only Script Editor is listed and it is
grey and none of the others are even present.

Hi Peter,

Are you on build 1953? In the latest SetupBuilder 6.5 Build 1953, the
Visualizer List (on the left side of the screen) "should" be available when
this happens. The latest build 1953 should fix the "greyed out" issue.

We can reproduce the "Cannot create [PRODUCTPATH]\Install\Demo" problem. It
is fixed now!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Friedrich

Thanks for makeing the fix so quickly. I am running the 1953 build. The
grayed out was less of a problem than all of the other Visualizer items
missing. When I merely closed the project and re-opened it, everything was
back. If I compiled again without changing the project, SB closed itself with
no message.

Yes, I also noticed the "close itself without message" issue. It should be
fixed now. The "Cannot create [PRODUCTPATH]\Install\Demo" error destroyed
the stack :-(

Our plan is to make a maintenance build available next week.

Thanks again,
