After setting up my first project, I realized it had saved in Documents
& settings........
I would like all the project to be saved to another hard drive.
I tried moving it, but now It can't find it.

So how do I fix my stupidity

Use Setup Builder's built in "move" function:

See attached.

I read your message several times, but it's not clear to me what the
question is <g>.

Is the question how to set the default path for projects? You can do this
in Tools | Options... | File Locations tab (see attached screenshot).

Please note that SetupBuilder is a true mixed-mode application and runs (by
default) non-elevated. That means, it stores (by default) all projects in a
per-user location. So "JoeUser" and "JohnWayne" have their own project
locations.

Does this help?

Just noticed the other thread in the 3rdparty NG.

Change the project location in "Tools" | "Options..." | "File Locations" tab
and copy the .sb7 project(s) from the default project location (e.g.
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\SetupBuilder Projects) to your new location.
That's it :-)

I finally broke down and bought sb7 professional.
Set up my first project and then I realized it was putting the project
info into
documents & settings.
How do I move that to a secure location on another drive

thanks

Jim,

Better NG would be <softvelocity.clarion.addons.setupbuilder>

Can't you just copy it (copying instead of moving is safest way) over to
where you want it and then "go there" with the IDE to load it and continue
on with your development???

The SB NG is the better place for this question but the question has been
asked so.....

SB has a built in "move" function (see attached)

I do my best to avoid storing anything of value on the windows drive.
I periodically 2 - 3 times a year reformat my C drive. It's amazing the
speed increase I get.

Yes, I also avoid storing anything of value on the windows drive :-)
Windows is on drive C: and all my data is on drive E:

But that is against all Microsoft recommendations and development &
deployment guidelines, so... <g>

This is why (to avoid confusion) I store all *data* on drive *d* and
not on _e_

<vbg>

like this I fool all recommendations B-)

I always figured a recommendation was like a speed limit, just a
