error box states:

Cannot download server manifest file.

Network Communication Error: 5030 10049

Should I be concerned or just go fishing

I've had that before and it was my connection settings that were off.

Any excuse to fish is a good one. Look for Friedrich's invoice soon <g>

Seriously, most likely it means that you need to adjust a file on your server with
the name of config (I'm using dead memory cells here <g>). Search the Lindersoft
web forums, there is a remedy for it there.

In essence, you simply add the names of the *.000x files to the text file and save
it. The error means you've run out of x's <g>. An entry of *.00?? should fix you
up.

Hi Jim,

> do you happen to remember which ones?

It's either a MIME or Firewall issue (assuming the configuration settings
are correct).

If you can download the manifest file with Internet Explorer, then it's a
firewall thing.

Got it using IE.

That's scary. I assume that means IE bypasses my router security.

Or, if you have another "protection" software product installed, it simply
blocks access to your server from the wupdate.exe (or wucheck.exe).

If you can download the manifest file via IE then it's definitely not a MIME
issue.
