Hi Friedrich,

Got a problem with one of my install scripts after I ran the validation on
it.

See attached icetips_util_2011-09-22-compiler.txt file

I get ton of errors like:

Process Uninstall Script...
icetipsuninstall.sbi(19): error GEN1020: Unknown string resource name:
UNINST_HEADING
icetipsuninstall.sbi(19): error GEN1020: Unknown string resource name:
UNINST_CONFIRM
icetipsuninstall.sbi(31): error GEN1020: Unknown string resource name:
UNINST_HEADING
icetipsuninstall.sbi(31): error GEN1020: Unknown string resource name:
UNINST_FINISH
Uninstall Script Generation disabled
Continue (0:1:36): C:\Products\ITUtilities\Latest\ITUtilities.sb7
ITUtilities.sb7(80): error GEN1020: Unknown string resource name:
DLG_SETUPTYPE_TYPE1
ITUtilities.sb7(80): error GEN1020: Unknown string resource name:
DLG_SETUPTYPE_DES1

I restored the script from backup and opted NOT to update it and that works
fine. If you want the script just let me know and I'll email it to you:)
Haven't had any issues with other scripts that have updated and don't appear
to have any issues.

Hope this helps:)

Best regards,

Hi Arnór,

Hmm, could you please send me the (original and "validated") scripts and
your icetipsuninstall.sbi. Strange thing is that script validation does not
touch that part of the .tps superfile at all. It does not even touch the
script. Script validation just adds 2-5 records to the "General Properties"
to fix an old conversion problem (from 2007 or so). But it does not touch
the text resource file nor the script.

I just emailed you a zip file with all the .sbi files as well as
ITUtilities.sb7 which is the original, unfixed script, and
ITUtilities_Fixed.sb7, which is the one that was fixed. What struck me is
that the "fixed" one is about 50K smaller than the original so something was
dropped during the validation.

No other installs that I have tried have had any issue with the validation
and have compiled without any problems at all.

Best regards,
