View Full Version : UNC problem with update

All of my users have no problems with my upgrades to them except for one
site who always has a problem with permissions for users across a P2P
network. The app running on the main machine works fine. The tech has set
the links up using UNC eg \\server\data\myapp.exe. I've suggest he capture
the drive instead. Any clues and is it possible to set access levels for
users with SB7?
Thanks

What you can try to use is the "Set Access Control..." script function. But
I am not sure if this is the solution in your case.

Or this one called directly from your setup.exe:

Thanks Friedrich
I'll contact the tech and ask him for the permissions he is setting on this
clients network. Obviously he has done what he he has done for a purpose. I
prefer not to mess with what techs have done as they get paid to their job
and I need them on side when the client is remote, as most are. If I do not
get a satisfactory answer from him then I'll look at the scripting.
