ECM Signcode GPF under Vista

Its pretty random, but this time I have tried 5 times to compile my project.
Sometimes it gpf's (Stops working) at the uninstaller, sometimes at the
program.

Any who has the same problem, and solutions?

Install away from 'Program Files'?

I have never seen a similar report, but maybe switching to SignTool.exe
could be a solution in your case?!

If SignCode.exe GPFs then perhaps there is something wrong with your Vista
installation. BTW, it has nothing to do with the "Program Files" folder.

Not sure if it's the same thing - when you say it GPFs, did it really GPF
or is just waiting for input.

I have noticed (and I think others have reported this), if you're compiling
in the SB65 IDE, and the program looses focus (ie. YOU alt tab to another
program), sometimes upon return to SB65 IDE, the script pauses at a
codesign password prompt,

if you manually put the password in, you can usually continue the compile
and successfully complete it.

stopped, and it will try to make a solution. Then the compile fails.

Edvard,

If you haven't already, make the environment as simple as possible - run as
few other programs as possible - also NOTE what is running when this
happens.

Yes, one of the most annoying messages in Vista - it's not making a
solution, it's recording what program failed, how many times, etc. although
I guess there is the rare occasion in it's database it has a solution to
what failed and points you to an updated version, etc.

If SignCode.exe (Microsoft tool) GPFs then the only solution is to switch to
SignTool.exe (IMO).

I have to do 'Something' about this now.
I am using more than some tries before i get it through both times.
It seems like the 'Signtool.exe' is a part of a +100 M install from
Microsoft - Do I really need all this, or do you know where i can get the
tool itself?
When I have the Signtool.exe, how to replace the failing Signcode.exe?
A simple delete and rename?

Yes, you are right. It's a 100+ MB Microsoft install.
