As Friedrich is THE Master of all this (mess - sorry) :

on a 64 bit OS (2008 srv) when I install an ODBC driver (dbmaker 64 bit
sql server installer from argh .... I know all <g>)
I see the drivers installed under system32 odbc manager but I do not
see them when I query from (the one my app uses) wow64

if I make a user level dsn from system32, I see it from wow64 odbc
manager but I cannot connect as the driver is not registered

turning round in circles

any tips please here to solve this 32/64 driver issue please ?

I can create a dsn on the SV 32 bit topspeed driver and connect
properly but nothing doing on this 64 bit driver
could it be the way "they" install or register it maybe ?

Not sure if you are doing this, but you have to use the appropriate version
of the ODBC Administrator tool. If you have a 32-bit application on a
64-bit operating system, you must create the ODBC data source by using the
ODBC Administrator tool in ..\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe. To indicate the type
of DSN, you can add "_32" to the 32-bit user DSNs and "_64" to the 64-bit
user DSNs.

Hello Fredrich,

My app calls that wow64 odbc manager but the 64 bit driver (at least
this dbmaker one) is not visible there

I can only see it from the system32 odbc manager

Well .... tomorrow is another day (just discovered my sql code does not
work in c8 on a DSN on the same machine where it works from c6 so work
ahead ... time for a nice and cosy sunday after noon with my Princess
now <g>)

Enjoy your sunday mon ami.
