View Full Version : Add lines to uninstall from within script

Friedrich,

Wise has an op to add manually lines to the uninstall script while installing. Does SB have any kind of equivalent option?

For example, in a few cases I might need to rename a file after it has been installed. The uninstall script has the original name, so the renamed files don't get removed during the uninstall. Wise allowed me to manually add lines for the renamed files so they would get deleted.

Aren't I fun to have around?

Hi Tom,

:)

Rename files operations are not logged. You have to do this kind of stuff directly from within your custom uninstall.

Similar to the "Delete Directories Not Created With my installation" topic in the manual.

Does this help?

Okay.

I was just wondering if you did have an analog of the Wise function to simplify things.

For the wishlist: A new option/checkbox to add the target filename to the uninstall log when renaming a file.

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom,

I think we can add such an option to the next maintenance build.

Thank you for your suggestion!
