One of my users is having problems with Clarion detection with my
installers (and others). I figured I would post his message here, in
hopes that someone would have a bright idea:

------------------------
I just try to understand whats happen, on 10.07.2012 I have uninstall
Clarion 8 EE release 8973
and installed new Clarion 8 EE release 9304, I was able to install all
template without any problem.
Today I tread few installation from your product and some other

no one can see any clarion environment.

I tread some tools from Linder software like c6_fix_vista.exe from
2009 when.
I try to install super stuff installation start and It shows me only

Only thinks what happen are windows upgrade, no other activity made

What does he have in the following registry key?:

SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstal l\{19336650-F595-11DF-72AE-06609D572CD6}\InstallLocation

Or if he has Clarion 8 PE:

SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstal l\{5C35A2B0-F595-11DF-2EA6-0662547D0BB3}\InstallLocation

Friedrich,

> What does he have in the following registry key?:

It's SO much easier with individual installs and a slight twist to the
default script. Sooooo much easier!<g>

If it finds the registry entry it uses it but it doesn't leave anyone
out in the cold if that registry key is missing.

SetupBuilder with a twist... stirred, not shaken!

Mike,

<g>

If System does have Clarion 8.0 Then
Set Variable %CLARION_IDE_DIR% to "%_SB_TMP%" [Remove File Name]
Set Variable %CLARION_IDE_DIR% to FUNCTION:Extract Full Folder()
Else
Set Variable %CLARION_IDE_DIR% to "c:\clarion8"
End

Mike,

Creating separate installs? I wouldn't know since mine have always
been version specific.

As to providing the path for a dialog, that's a few lines shy of
exactly what I use - but then you knew that, didn't ya?!<g>

All you have to do now is...

The directory management is shared by all my templates, but the
assignment of various intermediate variables complicates this
somewhat.
