"MSDN and TechNet subscribers will get the final version of Windows 8 on 15
August (which likely means 16 August for Australians); 16 August will see
the OS hit the Microsoft Partner Network, and customers with existing
Microsoft Software Assurance for Windows will be able to download Windows 8
Enterprise edition; Microsoft Action Pack Providers will receive Windows 8
on 20 August; and Volume License customers without Software Assurance will
be able to purchase Windows 8 on 1st September.

Availability for the general public remains 26 October."

This means, we can expect SB8 on 15th August?

Hi Markus,

No. SetupBuilder 8 will not be available on August 15, 2012. But this is
not a problem because most components of the latest SB77 build are already
Win8-aware and Win8-compliant (Release Preview).

In 2008/2009, we were part of the internal MS Win7/VS beta test team and
Microsoft granted access to the final Visual Studio parts for Windows 7
development at a very early state. On June 18, 2008 we published the first
Win7-enabled SetupBuilder version and with the release of Win7 RTM (on
August 06, 2009) we made SB7 Gold available.

This time there was no "official" internal beta test program for Windows 8.
But we released the first Win8-enabled (Developer Preview) SetupBuilder
release on January 23, 2012 and the latest SB77 already lets you compile
Win8-aware and Win8-compliant setups. Yesterday, we started tests on
Windows 8 RTM build (9200). We need VS2012 RTM to recompile Win8 relevant
(.NET) source codes.
