View Full Version : SB Add Firewall Exception - Public Only?

I almost got everything working the way that I want but have a
question or problem with Add Firewall Exception (SB7, Developer).

In my script I added the "Add Firewall Exception" and it does create
the exception in Windows 7, however it is only applied to "Public"
profile. The "Domain" and "Private" profiles are not checked.

How can I get a Firewall Exception added that applies to all profiles,
not just Public?

Barton,

The firewall interface used by SB7 doesn't support firewall profiles
(private, domain or public) on Vista+.

BTW, in SetupBuilder 8, we'll support an additional firewall interface for
Vista/Server 2008 and Windows 7+.

Perfect! I can work around it in the mean time.

The problem is that in Vista and Windows 7+, the Firewall API changed a lot
in comparison to the previous versions. So we have to support different
interfaces to handle it. It's a nightmare to keep all this "in-sync".
