View Full Version : rollback installation

In SB4 I had this nice feature that I could do a full install over a
previous installation, and if I didn't like the result, I could do rollback.
I can't find that feature in SB6, uninstall removes every file installed
ever. Sure it is somewhere? The backupfiles are.
I found a workaround - not very good though - naming the uninstaller with
version %_SB_INSTALLDIR%\Uninst_[PRODUCTNAME]_[PRODUCTVER].exe. It does a
perfect rollback with regards to files, but the uninstaller item in
controlpanel is gone as well as the shortcuts.

Bjarne,

The SB4 solution was very problematic. For example, the following scenario:

1. Full Install
2. Update 1
3. Update 2

The user uninstalled "Update 1" and the result was a corrupted system.

Ok, I'll stick with the workaround then .
