-- PART V: Support for Firewall with Advanced Security on Win8 --

Windows Firewall with Advanced Security is available on computers that are
running Windows Vista and later versions of Windows, including Windows 8.

The basic operation of Windows Firewall with Advanced Security is that an
incoming packet is inspected and compared against a list of allowed traffic.
If the packet matches an entry in the list, Windows Firewall passes the
packet to the TCP/IP protocol for further processing. If the packet does
not match an entry in the list, Windows Firewall discards the packet and, if
logging is enabled, creates an entry in the Windows Firewall logging file.

The Firewall component in SetupBuilder 8 has been completely redeveloped
from scratch. On Vista and above, Developer Edition can support the three
network location types now: domain, public, and private. A network is
classified as the "domain" network location type if the connection is
authenticated to a domain controller for the domain of which it is a member.
By default, all other networks are initially classified as "public"
networks. Windows then asks the user to identify the network as either
"public" or "private". The "public" profile is intended for use when in
public locations such as airports or coffee shops. The "private" network
location is intended for use when connected at a home or office and behind
an edge device.

The compiler and installer runtime handle all the dirty work completely
behind-the-scenes for you. The new Windows 8 compatible component is fully
backward compatible.

More Win8 stuff to come...

Thank you :-)

SB8 is scheduled to be released in November. It's nearly code-complete.

Your near code-complete is code-complete for quite a few vendors.
Looking forward to the release. I might learn some stuff about Win 8
with it before I actually get it <g>
