Is there a Runtime variable that contains the location to install Desktop icons? If not, where does SetupBuilder get the path used to install desktop icons?

Thanx.

Rob,

Sure. You can use the built-in runtime variable(s) %_CSIDL_COMMON_DESKTOPDIRECTORY% (for all-users) or %_CSIDL_DESKTOPDIRECTORY% (per-user; only use in non-elevated mode).

BTW, if you are using the Shortcuts Visualizer (instead of the script function) then the location is set automatically.

I'm actually trying to delete an old icon. And since there is no "Delete Shortcut..." function. ... <hint> :-)

Aha, okay :) Absolutely no problem. A Shortcut is nothing more (or less) than a file. Just use the "Delete File(s)..." script function. See attached screenshot. This will remove the test.lnk Shortcut from the per-machine (all-users) Desktop.

That's what I was going to use, hence the need for the built-in variables. :-)

Thanx!
